You’re going to love these edible works of art! Question is, would you eat them?

Let’s talk about dessert envy! “What’s that?” you say. “Is that a thing? Do I have to see a therapist for it?” In the event planning and party hosting world, it kind of is a thing. But no need for therapy. When you see a cake you have to have at your next party, or when you covet everything on the dessert table, that qualifies as dessert envy. Although I pretty much always covet everything on every dessert table, so I guess I suffer from this all the time! And when you look at the photos we’re sharing this week, you’ll have major dessert envy, too! We’re featuring designer cakes that are amazingly creative and fantastically fanciful. They look too perfect to eat. But that didn’t stop anyone. They are, after all, “just” cakes.

After you see these photos, maybe you’ll get ideas for some designer cakes of your own. No need for something as big as these; a mini version in a single layer could have just as much impact. Sharing cool ideas to inspire creativity is what The Party Goddess! is for. I plan ridiculously fabulous events, each with a different look and feel. And I’m happy to share some of my faves with you so you can make your own event just as fab, just as unique.

This fanciful stacked cake was from a birthday party for Ali Landry’s daughter. It was sweet and fun and adorable, just like the birthday girl!

How do you like this gorgeous confection? It was the centerpiece dessert (well, I actually had a few cakes) at my birthday party just a few short years ago when I turned… let me see, I think it was 29. Yes, it was for my 29th-ish birthday! Still one of my favorite cakes ever!

Favorite Event Photos and Inspiration – Wednesday:

For a wedding by the sea, this designer cake was so perfect! Cool blue contrasted with bright red inspired by the color of coral and lobsters. It was a true work of art, right up until the couple cut into it! Happy #WeddingWednesday!

This darling hula girl was on the cake at a luau-themed party for Leona Lewis. Decorated with thick swirly icing, it fit the theme of the Hawaiian party perfectly! #TBT

Favorite Event Photos and Inspiration – Friday:

Cake as canvas. That’s what this is. The “icing artist” took inspiration from the ocean and beach for a seaside, ocean-view birthday party. When it came time to eat the cake, everyone dove right in! Yum! #TGIF

This cake is AMAZING! Or should I say, uh-mazing? Four tiers, beautiful gold lettering, sparklers for candles… over-the-top fab!
