6 Unique Super Bowl Party Ideas: Game On!-recap image

Don’t worry. It happens all the time! The invitations are out and Super Bowl Sunday is just days away, but you haven’t even had time to think about the details. Well, lucky for you because party planning is what I do best!

In a little “throwback Tuesday/Thursday something post”, I figured I’d share unique party tips to get you ready for the Super Bowl in a segment clip I did for KCAL9. So sit back and relax! By the end of this blog, you’ll have a shopping list and some much needed direction!

Here’s The Clip Where I Cover Super Bowl Party Ideas For The Big Game:

Here’s a summary of the tips from the clip. Take them and make them your own.

6 Inexpensive Football Party Tips:

1. Table Decor

Make your buffet table the playing field with green turf and white yard lines. Home Depot sells sod that you can easily lay out on your table (and yes, I do mean REAL sod!). It’s super kid-friendly, but be sure to line a wood table with a piece of plastic before laying down the sod so it doesn’t destroy the table top. If you’d rather not go for the real stuff, you can substitute artificial turf or high pile green fur. Then dress up the table with footballs, jerseys and pom poms instead of your standard floral centerpiece.

2. Food

Get your head in the game! Serve chips in a football helmet. And this next idea you’ve gotta love…chili in a can! Not much to it…pop the top and serve with all the fixins. Ok…I hear ya! Your guests will expect a little more? Then make your award-winning homemade chili and print out our FREE printable chili label. Problem solved! It definitely adds a more personal touch!

3. Signature Cocktails

Get creative! Name your cocktails after the teams or players and make them in the colors of the teams. If kids are invited, go non-alcoholic and have a little something on the side for adults.

4. Candy Bar

A candy bar has yet to go out of style! Think color! Get candy that represents the team colors. M&Ms are perfect!

5. Kids’ Station

Keep kids busy! Set up an art station for kids of all ages. Paint cans from a hardware store are great containers for art supplies. Some items you’ll want to have on hand include:

  • butcher paper
  • colored pencils
  • markers
  • stickers

6. Games & Prizes

Plan a contest or a trivia game. Consider your audience. For prizes, purchase gift cards or take a trip to your local 99¢ Store. They have tons of fun party items.

Big Take Away – Simple and Inexpensive!

Admit it! These Super Bowl party ideas are really pretty simple…chili in a can…candy bar…art station. I lot of these items you probably already have around the house, so repurpose them. I absolutely LOVE to reuse whatever I have on hand! And whatever you don’t have can be solved with a quick trip to the 99¢ Store which is definitely inexpensive.
