Are you planning an event and trying to figure out what to put on the tables? Could be a party, a simple dinner, even a wedding. Whatever it is, stressing over the details is not very fun. It’s way better when you can enjoy the planning, make decisions and move to the next item on the list. If you’re stumped when it comes to decorating the tables — especially if you’re doing them yourself — let me make a suggestion. Keep it super simple! Minimalist geometric table decor can create a modern, artsy vibe. All you need are some glass boxes (mix up the shapes) to “display” your flowers, a few colorful blooms or greens, and interesting linens. Put together, you’ll have a look that’s artistic and unexpected. And simple. This week, we’re sharing photos of tablescapes that highlight different geometric shapes. Maybe they’ll inspire your table!

If you’ve been one of my loyal blog followers, you know that we publish these image roundups weekly. We feature a particular event for a particular client so you can go deep on the particular theme. If you know what’s up, skip this part. New visitors, take a look below…
In case you missed it, here’s what we’re doing, mentioned in the first blog. (And if you already know what’s going on, skip to the first photo!) Every day we’re posting event photos & inspiration to my Instagram page to give you ideas for your own events. And, of course, to encourage you to hire yours truly, one of the top Los Angeles event planners, for your next soirée! In terms of format, we’re trying to capitalize on the whole hashtag calendar world and take advantage of #WeddingWednesday (#WW) and #ThrowbackThursday (#TBT) by posting wedding photos and cool stuff we’ve done on Wednesdays and on Thursdays, harkening back to a past client’s event, be it a celebrity, or just one of us tastemakers.
Favorite Event Photos and Inspiration – Monday:
How sweet is this table centerpiece? Delicate, yet a little edgy, it commands attention in its purposeful simplicity. I think it’s almost reminiscent of the Louvre Pyramid, slightly smaller of course. Trés chic!
Favorite Event Photos and Inspiration – Tuesday:
Want a super simple table centerpiece? How about this one? You can put almost anything in a glass box and it’ll look great! It’s like a terrarium, without the dirt. It’s modern, clean (literally!) and kinda artsy!
Favorite Event Photos and Inspiration – Wednesday:
For extra impact on your table, mix shapes, colors and textures. The gold cutlery and rimmed plates echo the gold swirls on the tablecloth. The satin napkin is a fun touch. Top it all off with a cocktail ring napkin ring and you’ve got one elegant table setting! Happy #WeddingWednesday!
Favorite Event Photos and Inspiration – Thursday:
I love this table setting combo! It reminds me of the French Riviera. Yes, I’m sure you think everything reminds me of the French Riviera! Is there anything wrong with that? The yellow stripes and square plates look like a beach umbrella. Throw in some olive leaves, pour the champagne and it’s all quite French to me! #TBT
Favorite Event Photos and Inspiration – Friday:
I seriously LOVED the geometric table decor at this wedding! The bride wanted something edgy and modern, with some personal touches. Instead of table numbers, hand-lettered pieces of agate named the places that were special to the couple. And metal spheres and succulents took the place of flowers. Pretty cool effect, I must say! #TGIF
Favorite Event Photos and Inspiration – Saturday:
Simple, monochrome, modern. You really can’t go wrong with that approach to setting a table. This is the place setting that went with Tuesday’s glass “display” box. So easy!
