And definitely don’t forget the green as in green food, green decor, green fashion and maybe even a little green beer!

In a little “throwback Tuesday/Thursday something post”, I figured I’d share tips to plan the perfect St. Patrick’s Day party in a segment clip I did for The Better Show. So find that pot of gold and have a little fun!

4 Tips For Hosting A Fun St. Patrick’s Day Party:

1. Music

One thing that people often forget when entertaining is music. It’s really pretty simple! Go to iTunes and search for keywords, such as bagpipes, Dropkick Murphys or Irish music. Come up with a playlist of some really fun music that your guests will want to listen to on St. Patrick’s Day because it might be the only day that they listen to this type of music!

2. Green Food

There are so many healthy green foods that are totally appropriate to serve at a St. Patty’s Day party! Think beyond celery to edamame, asparagus, cucumbers, green peppers, broccoli and snap peas. Make a menu of all of your green veggies. Another great idea is to cut green peppers into the shape of four-leaf clovers.

3. Decor

Think of fun decor pieces that are different from just flowers, such as branches with green buds or a vase full of moss and chocolate gold coins. You can create a “pot of gold” with kettle corn in different flavors for your guests to munch on as a snack.

4. Drink Garnishes

Add a little extra flair to drinks. I LOVE the idea of using candy as garnishes. Skewer kiwi gummies or other green candies. You can display them in a large martini glass or layer them in a cylindrical vase.

Big Take Away – Don’t Forget The Music!

Music is what makes a party fun! It kicks it up a notch! It will get you and your guests into the mood and into the theme of the party.
