The Party Goddess to the rescue – we’ve got the perfect solution! We all LOVE shopping and buying new things, but we don’t always want to spend a ton of money. Am I right? So why not get together with a group of friends and shop for FREE? Plan a summer swap party!

In a little “throwback Tuesday/Thursday something post”, I figured I’d share ideas to get rid of those sunglasses that you’re tired of, the shoes that you’ve never worn, and the jewelry that you’re just done with in a segment clip I did for WFLA Tampa. Your discards can be someone else’s “new” treasures and the best part is that you know where they came from (your friend’s closet)!

Ideas To Shop For FREE:

1. Exchange Item For Item

Everyone shows up to the party with items that they want to swap. For every item that you bring, you get a shell. So if you bring 8 items, you will get 8 shells to “spend” on 8 items. If more than one person wants the same item, of course we have a solution! Duke it out with dice. The highest roller, gets the item. Done!

2. Cocktails

What’s a party without really good cocktails? Need I say more?

3. Dessert Swap

The idea here is that everyone brings their favorite dessert and you get to leave with other great treats.

4. White Elephant Gift Exchange

Take one of the items that you are ready to part with. Wrap it up in fabulous wrapping paper and bring it to the party to swap for another gift.

5. Swag Bags

Everything is about the swag bag, right? Get canvas or recycled plastic reusable totes. They cost about 99¢ and you can buy them just about anywhere these days. Your guests can put all of their “new” items in a bag to take home.
