Trend Spotting; Food Trucks

Another Thursday, another trend spotting by The Party Goddess;

Something is happening amongst the streets of LA and we think its time everybody noticed the food revolution that is going on outside your office window. “Street meat” has gotten a foodie makeover in this past year with their offerings improving from questionable bacon wrapped hot dogs to delish kobe beef sliders and gourmet sausages.

Gourmet food trucks have started braving the LA traffic to bring you the most divine meals at your local intersection. These trucks usually have a food theme and catchy names, ranging from “India Jones Truck,” (Indian food) to “Baby’s Badass Burgers.” Lines start forming quickly when the trucks pull up to their destination, which can be scouted by following their twitter accounts. For a comprehensive list check out; http://listorious.com/ZagatBuzz/los-angeles-food-trucks.

The options can be overwhelming so here is a run down of our favorites;

LetsbeFrankLA; The name says it all. Dogs and more dogs. But not your highly saturated fat dog, oh no. How about a grass fed, free-range hot dog? You really can taste the difference, we dare you to try it yourself.

KogiBBQ; Probably one of the most popular and prominent trucks. Here you can find yummy Korean BBQ, wrapped up taco style. We couldn’t ask for much more.

Grilled Cheese Truck; This one doesn’t need an explanation.

Green Truck; This truck proves that organic, vegan food really does have the ability to taste scrumptious when done right. This truck is also available for catering…. We sense our party planning world  colliding with food trucks in the near future!

In fact, we recently attended a wedding where a relaxed rehearsal dinner was provided by food trucks after an afternoon on the beach. The trucks were so popular amongst the guests that they re-appeared in the wee hours of the morning on the night of wedding, as guests were leaving and in need of a little nosh satisfy their late night craving.
