Are You Ready For Some Football?
Oh yes! It’s that time of year again! While I’m not so much a football fan (which, by the way, I have mentioned numerous times), it’s really the PARTY that I’m more interested in, and party tips are definitely my forte!
In a little “throwback Tuesday/Thursday something post”, I figured I’d share tailgate party tips to score a touchdown with football fans in a segment clip I did for Fox News. So, let’s kick it off!
Here’s The Clip Where I Cover Game Day Party Tips:
Here’s a summary of the tips from the clip. Take them and make them your own.
Tips And Tricks For A Tailgate Party:
1. Invitation
What’s a party without an invitation? But forget about the standard party invitation. Take it to the next level! Get small lightweight footballs that are easy to mail. Put them in small cardboard boxes with some filler paper shreds to hold them in place. Insert the party details, and mail to your guests!
2. Party Favors
Koozies are the ultimate sleeves to keep drinks cold, whether it’s beer or bottled water. Get them for both teams at any party store or a local market. You can even use them as place cards. If you want to go a step farther, you can get them personalized online.
3. Decor
Dress it up! Go for decor that does double duty!
- Put chips in a football helmet.
- Pom-poms can fill in any empty spaces on the buffet table.
- Create a subtle rivalry with team colors on the opposite sides of the table.
- Use football place mats to dress up the table.
4. Grill It Up!
What’s a tailgate party without a grill? This is seriously genius! Use a rolling grill that basically looks like a suitcase. Pull it along to the game and unfold it when you get to your party site. Can’t be much simpler than that!
Big Take Away – Be Different!
Creativity is the name of the game! Do something different, whether it’s your party invitation, the food or the decor. Whistles can be used as decor and as party favors. Lanyards can be used as napkin rings. Impress your guests with a winning strategy!
