Can You Premake Batches of Chocolate Martinis?

Premake Batches of Chocolate Martinis? Yay or nay?

I kind of am a believer in premaking just about anything possible, so why WOULDN’T you be able to premake batches of chocolate martinis? Well, I wasn’t sure and considering the question came to me from a real live person who actually might take my advice, I thought I’d ask the experts. I’m giving a special shout out to Brian Van Flandern – @MyMixologist, author of Vintage Cocktails (you must check it out if you don’t own it so buy it because it rocks) since I had the pleasure of dining with him over some magical tequila in NYC a few moons ago. Brian, help! (Really help because I saw an article that said it’s rough to premake batches of chocolate martinis or any martinis with dairy products. Correct? False?)

Here is the question that came in to TPG’s worldwide headquarters today:

“Dear Marley,

I don’t know if you are willing/able to answer a question I have as I am just a regular Joe (Joesephine, perhaps?) here in [city redacted. My Take: Bee tee dubbs, I 100% could’ve left the city in but I am sort of obsessed with saying “redacted” so thought this was the perfect excuse.] I read your bio, it cracked me up! I am hosting a post holiday party for the ladies in my life. I call it “We Survived the Holidays”.  [My take: GREAT THEME! WISH-I-WOULD’VE-THOUGHT-OF-IT!] Maybe you can relate to it with having a kid, but it feels like moms/women seem to do most of the work to get ready for the holidays. [My take: Um, hell yes we do.] Anyways… last year I served Chocolate Martinis. They were a huge hit, except I spent all night mixing and shaking, I could barely keep up! I guess my friends are lush puppies. [My take: Um x 2, you haven’t met my friends!]

Can I make a batch in advance? There are about 20 people coming!

Here is the recipe I used:

1 1/2 shots Godiva® chocolate liqueur [My take: Bless her, she even included the little “R” symbol next to the Godiva in the recipe.]

1 1/2 shots creme de cacao

1/2 shot vodka

2 1/2 shots half-and-half

Thank you so much for any advice you could provide!

CK” [Redacted. My take: But you saw that coming, no?]
