Did someone just put a ring on it? Time to get planning!

Did you get engaged over the holidays? If you did, congrats! Or do you suspect a proposal is coming soon? Maybe you’re the one popping the question! (Nothing to be nervous about! Of course the answer will be “yes!”) So many couples get engaged between Christmas and Valentine’s Day that, like it or not, this time of year has come to be called engagement season. I get it, some people don’t love this time of year and they feign interest in romantic proposal stories and ooh and aah over their friends’ new engagement rings. Get over it, c’est la vie! March will be here soon enough. But for the rest of us, it’s engagement season, people! Time to celebrate and get planning! Woo hoo!!

You’re engaged! I now pronounce you very busy!

A wedding, even a small, simple affair, is a big deal! I mean, you’re only going to do this once, right? (At least that’s what I thought… I bet Elizabeth Taylor thought that every time, too… but never mind about that!) You want to get it right and do it the way you want. So after all the celebratory toasts — hopefully you had a whole lot of those with some really nice bubbly! — it’s time to get busy! Pinterest anyone?

Maybe you’ve already set records for your Pinterest usage. (BTW… how great is Pinterest? It’s kind of a bride’s BFF!) Where else can you find a zillion photos, clever ideas, fun themes, beautiful dresses and non-stop wedding perfection — all in one spot? In fact, if your friends haven’t already staged a Pinterest intervention for you, I should probably thank you for taking a self-imposed break to check out The Party Goddess! this week. Buh bye winter! It’s engagement season!

We shared some really beautiful photos from a summer beach wedding that I just loved! The look was playful, pretty and somewhat pink! It was just what the bride wanted (which made it exactly what the groom wanted in this case!). The beach setting and stunning ocean view gave a casual feel to balance with the the prettiness of the flowers and tables. Maybe these photos gave you some ideas and inspiration for your own engagement season… not to mention for your own Pinterest board! How perfect is this bridal bouquet? Pale pinks and cream with a few touches of green… it’s wedding gorgeosity! These flowers were also featured on a floral arch that the bride & groom were married under. (Check out Wednesday’s image to see what it looked like!)

Favorite Event Photos and Inspiration – Tuesday:

How sweet it is! Don’t you just love these edible decorations? So playful and colorful — and definitely unexpected. I bet the kids (OK, maybe some of the adults too) enjoyed taking them home when the party was over! The couple chose big swirly lollipops to complement their colorful flowers, and saltwater taffy… because they were at the beach, of course. So sweet!

Favorite Event Photos and Inspiration – Wednesday:

I just love me a beautiful wedding arch! For an outdoor ceremony, especially one with an expansive setting like the beach, nothing frames the couple and catches the eye like a dramatic floral arch. And it makes a pretty good backdrop for photos too! The profusion of flowers in this arch echoed the flowers and colors of the bride’s bouquet (take a peek at Monday’s post), with a lot more color added to make a splash! And notice the flower ball? Looks like a chandelier… loving it! Happy #WeddingWednesday!

Favorite Event Photos and Inspiration – Thursday:

Make sure you get a few moments alone with your beloved on your wedding day! Who better to take it all in with than the person you just married? An intimate table for two is the perfect spot for your first meal together as marrieds. If no one interrupts you, maybe you’ll become the first couple in wedding history to actually eat the dinner you spent months arguing over planning! #TBT!

Can’t get enough of this color scheme! The sheer organza ribbon matches perfectly with the beautiful flower arrangement!

Favorite Event Photos and Inspiration – Saturday:

Send your guests home with a charming little reminder of your special day. How do you like this dainty Christmas ornament? It has a custom beachy design and the couple’s names and the wedding date. An ornament like this makes an appearance once a year so your friends can reminisce about how fun and fab your wedding was! Then it can be packed away so no one tires of it!
