Inauguration Party Tips

Just celebrating at home? No problem! Check out these great entertaining ideas!

1. Drink what the candidates will be drinking. The Hawaii Delegation party at the Mandarin Oriental will feature two official cocktails: The American Dream (a funky red, white and blue libation featuring Pama Pomegranate Liqueur and a blueberry garnish) and The Air Force One (soft blue in color, packed with Hpnotiq, Cognac and citrus vodka).

2. Eat what the President eats! Some of President-Elect Barack Obama’s favorite foods are: Chile-Lime Peanuts, Chili con Carne, Cheddar Biscuits, Roasted Delicata Squash Salad and Pumpkin Pie with Spiced Crust

3. Expand beyond the stars and stripes. You’ve got tons of décor options besides flags and donkeys so brainstorm a list. Consider incorporating other American icons like: The Liberty Bell, Uncle Sam, Mt. Rushmore, busts of past Presidents, the American eagle, and a map of the United States.

P.S. – Check out tomorrow’s post and you’ll get the recipes to The American Dream AND The Air Force One!
