In a little “throwback Tuesday/Thursday something post”, I figured I’d share 5 inspiring tips on how to throw an idol-worthy party in a segment clip I did for Fox 32. Enjoy!

1. Invitation

Create a great invitation!

Include badge numbers
Go green! Make it an Evite or Paperless Post.
Don’t forget to include “You’re going to Hollywood!” – It’s a must!

2. Karaoke Night

Get everyone engaged and singing with or without a karaoke machine. You can download karaoke music from the internet.

3. Cast Ballots

Have your guests cast their own ballots. See who wins and offer gift certificates for prizes.

4. Signature Cocktail

Create a signature cocktail with blue Curacao (American Idol blue) and serve it on a mirrored tray for a little glitz and glam. You can name the drink. You can also make it a mocktail if kids are involved.

5. Decor

Use skinny vases
You can find feathers at a craft store.
Put them on the buffet.

It’s not necessary to spend a ton of money like a Hollywood celebrity when hosting a party and these tips to throwing an American Idol Watch Party are totally budget-friendly. Invitations don’t have to cost you a penny if you go digital rather than printed. Pull stuff that you already have around the house for decor. It really can be that simple!
