Featured Food Truck; The Classic Taco Truck

All the food truck talk and street meat lingo got us thinking; although food trucks are slowing gaining ground in other cities, Los Angeles was their breeding ground, starting all the way back with taco trucks in the 1970’s. Couple our multi-cultural influences and our celebrity crazed stalking abilities and you have a large demographic willing to try a Kobe beef quesadilla after pinpointing its meandering location on their blackberry.

We are still amazed.

We thought we would feature a truck that took us back, back to the 1970’s when taco trucks ruled the roadways of LA and hot dog street vendors set up shop outside Downtown Discos and the Hollywood Bowl, wafting their saturated fat, bacon wrapped concoctions into the revelry and masses.

The classic taco truck might be harder to find on twitter, but we found a site with a keen eye for all things taco…

Here you can find the low down on the moving trucks and the original permanent restaurants that started churning out the diced onion and cilantro. So put your freeway knowledge to the test, or feel free to mapquest the permanent address to get your fill of carne asada.

The best part is when you realize that the taco’s hover around $1.50 per topping laden toritlla. That just seals the deal for us.
