Flattering, timeless dresses your bridesmaids will love! Seriously.

When my girlfriends and I are trying to decide where to go for drinks or brunch, well, let’s just say it can take a while. We all have our particular opinions about the food, the vibe, how cute the waiters are. You get the idea. And that’s way before we even get to practical stuff like driving distance and parking. (I live in L.A. remember?) So I can only imagine what a nightmare it would be if I was getting married again and I had to outfit my BFFs in bridesmaid dresses that they all like. That I like! That look good! Oy vey! The very thought is enough to put me off getting hitched ever again.

I’ve dressed a few bridesmaids in my day, so I know how challenging it is to put a group of ladies — chosen for friendship, not because they’re clones — in a similar dress. And this isn’t even the ’90s! Imagine, back then, brides chose the same dress for the entire bridal party and that was that. Add in the fact that it was the ’90s (we’re talking a decade-long fashion faux pas) and the result was… um… sometimes less than flattering. RIP the 1990s.

Bridesmaid dresses so gorgeous even the bride will want one!

Thankfully, times have changed! Style has evolved for the better and bridesmaids don’t have to look mediocre (or worse!) in the identical dress that barely looks good on the maid of honor. And the best improvement as far as I’m concerned? The frocks don’t have to be single-use garments no one would be caught dead in again (except at a Halloween party or a bad-bridesmaid-dress party). Hallelujah! Long live this trend!

This week, we’re sharing pics of some gorgeous summery bridesmaid dresses that any girl would love to wear. And wear again! Some of them are perfect for a repeat appearance at a holiday cocktail party. It’s like the wedding version of a day-to-evening outfit. Add the right statement jewelry and you’re good to go to any fabulous event. Most of the dresses are from Watters, designers of gorgeous gowns and dresses with flattering, feminine silhouettes. How beautiful is this dress by Watters? It’s elegant and sophisticated, and the color is flattering on most everyone. I’m not currently scheduled to be a bridesmaid in any weddings, but I think I might order me one anyway!

Soft, floaty and dreamy. This kinda looks like a chandelier of dresses… and it makes for a great pre-wedding photo to showcase the beautiful bridesmaid dresses the bride has chosen. Of course they look even better when not on the hanger!

Favorite Event Photos and Inspiration – Wednesday:

Who says you can’t wear white to a wedding? If Pippa wore it at the royal wedding, then so can you! This ethereal dress is gorgeous, but it in no way competes with the bride! Happy #WeddingWednesday!

Now here’s a dress I would totally wear! At a wedding… in a wedding… nothing to do with a wedding! The mix of blues is so gorgeous, how could anyone resist? It’s really a classic dress! #TBT

If this isn’t my most favorite dress (of the week), I don’t know what is! Rose gold, sequins, a little bit of daring… what’s not to love? This is definitely a dress that works perfectly at a daytime summer wedding, then can transition to night… even if the night is a cocktail party in December! #TGIF

For a neutral palette at a wedding, this dress is it! It’s the perfect backdrop for delicate-colored flowers or a nature-inspired theme. The silhouette and dropped shoulder are totally trending right now!
