* Let’s Get Personal: Instead of inviting everyone you know under the sun, events will have a more intimate setting. Inviting those closest to you allows for an event to be more private and exclusive feeling.
* Good Ol’ Comfort Food: Be on the lookout for sliders and tricked out versions of mac ‘n cheese, etc. This will also be a plus at events where the alcohol is-a-flowin’.
* Gourmet Twists: Spice up the menu by adding a unique twist to your typical dishes. Try a deconstructed cheesecake instead of the standard or lighter nouveau Mexican instead of the basics. Don’t hold back on spicing up the presentation too. Try serving soup and desserts in shot glasses to give traditional items a not so traditional appearance.
* Dipped and Decorated: Cupcakes and candy bars are still as popular as ever! Add some dipped and decorated Oreos and cake pops to change up the dessert table.
* Signature Drinks: People still love vodka but you can try something different. Think Absinthe or Limoncello. History doesn’t only repeat itself in fashion trends!
* One Size Doesn’t Fit All: Mix it up by having different table sizes and shapes in one space. This allows for a variety of different looks and gives the room a more eclectic feel by having different geometric shapes as opposed to all round tables.
Details, Details, Details: Bye bye solid colors! Gorgeous linens with a lot of detail are stepping in along with interesting chargers, chairs and glasses. Vintage never goes out of style so you may want to head up to your attic. Try adding vintage photos on napkin rings to add a personal flair.
* Put it On Paper: Paper products such as invitations, printed menus, place cards, etc. are continuing to be a significant expense and creative component of an event. There are tons of creative options for paper products and they provide plenty of opportunities for personalization by using various monograms and designs.
