Valentine’s Day is a day that symbolizes love, friendship and romance. With the economy today not everyone can be fond of Valentine’s Day. But you don’t have to worry! Feel good and park your worries at the door – V-Day is a time for LOVE. With your creative efforts (and small budget) you can still show your loved ones how much you adore them. FACTS & FIGURES:

* Cupid became associated with V-Day because he was the son of Venus, the Roman god of love and beauty. Cupid often appears on holding a bow and arrow to inspire feelings of love.

* Approximately 110 million roses, the majority red, will be sold and delivered within a three-day time period.

* Hallmark has over 1330 different cards specifically for Valentine’s Day. About 1 billion Valentine’s Day cards are exchanged each year. That’s the largest seasonal card-sending occasion of the year, next to Christmas.

* Only the U.S., Canada, Mexico, France, Australia and the U.K. celebrate Valentine’s Day.

* Chocolate is a traditional Valentine’s Day gift. It’s believed that chocolate brought smiles to the broken-hearted and prompted amorous feelings. In the 1800’s physicians commonly advised their patients to eat chocolate to calm their pining for lost love.
