Celebrate to the Max with Minimal Space

Don’t exactly have the amount of space like this home here from houzz.com? Convert existing spaces in your home to throw a fabulous party! Think outside of the box and don’t go through the mess of rearranging your home. Take a look around and use what you’ve got! A bookshelf, a desk, and even drawers are all great landing spots to use at your soiree!

TIPS:

* Pushed For Space! When thinking about converting spaces, make sure to put the bar (even if it’s all non-alcoholic beverages!) away from the main entrance to the event to prevent bottlenecks. Because people will congregate around the bar no matter WHERE it is, if pushed for space, I’ll always put it in the colder/further spot that’s not going to block entrances/exits nor access to food.

* Be Unconventional! Consider unconventional spots or nooks as “landing spaces.” Our kitchen at home blends with the family room where I have a built in desk and shelves. The shelves are great for beverage napkins and garnishes and the desk itself works perfectly for a self-serve bar or buffet.

* Creative Stations! Bookshelves and even drawers (pulled out) at the right height make great beverage/hors d’oeuvres/dessert stations so GET CREATIVE!

Random Small Space FACTS & FIGURES:

* The average American lives in an 1,800 square foot house.

* Americans could spend upward of $3 billion on holiday weekend parties, food, entertainment and travel.

* The average party-thrower will spend $422 per party.
