Thank you all so, so, so much for the outpouring of texts, FB messages, calls, emails and everything else about my sweet Stanley. Exactly never in my life did I think that I would be calling Stanley “sweet”, but I guess even when a dragon is injured, you see them in a new light. My normally quirky, stubborn, very driven, determined little monster was brought to his knees along with the rest of us when he had to have surgery on both eyes last Friday. Ugh. You can check Facebook from before where I spelled out the whole sitch.
And Then, Christmas!
It has been a looooooonnnnnggggg week, to say the least. Many times I thought I was going to jump off a bridge because I was so sad and worried for the little guy even though his Monday check up was a good one. The doctor at Children’s was AMAZING (Dr. Buffenn – cannot say enough about her) and noted that even after 2.5 days with no more than already achieved, he wouldn’t need to wear glasses and wouldn’t require any more surgery. I hesitate to type that, lest I jinx it, but we’re super hopeful.
Today I got a text of my biggest guy PLAYING BASEBALL. Yes, he’s still super sensitive to the light, but he might actually really play in the game tomorrow. To imagine that he went from Stevie Wonder, Jr. to this, in a week, is amazing.
Thank you again for all of your prayers and if you want to leave a comment here, he would love it because he is thrilled knowing people have commented on Facebook.
xx
