The fabulous foursome came, saw, and conquered two continents and the box office in the latest installment of Carrie’s escapades in Sex and the City 2. We couldn’t let this happen without a good ol’ fashion girl’s night out to celebrate the occasion. And when we say “good ol’ fashion girl’s night out,” we mean a poolside, pink carpet party at one of the hippest hotels in Santa Monica, The Shangri-La (www.shangrila-hotel.com).
The pink carpet was rolled out, along with the pink cosmos that were poured out, as we watched our party planning goddess skills in action. Guests were greeted with a swarm of paparazzi and a Photo Boothless station to help document and remember the night (http://photoboothless.com/). We auctioned off a table of enviable goodies, from leopard printed kaftans to a Carrie-worthy pair of fuchsia pink Christian Louboutin’s, and with the iconic red sole even signed by the master himself! Our girl, Nicole Pollard, at LaLaLuxe Concierge and Shopping Services was able to score those ruby red slippers for us, and even if we didn’t win them, just to hold them was enough for us. Even the snacks were theme appropriate, with ‘New York Pizza’ flavored Pirates Booty (www.piratesbooty.com) laid out on table strewn with pink boas for guests to grab on the way out and enjoy during the main attraction, the movie itself of course! The party migrated over to a nearby screening of the movie on Santa Monica’s happening Third Street Promenade. After a night fueled by girls and cosmos, we just need to find our own Big to complete our walk in Carrie’s stilettos.
