Now pregnant with my 3rd angel, I am trying to do anything to stay sane and not drink. This is difficult because while I normally don’t drink that much, I seem to be craving margaritas with reckless abandon. So…I decided to go to yoga on Sunday. It was a distraction and something good for me. I liked it. More on yoga later. What’s a great yoga chaser? A visit to the new Whole Foods market in Pasadena. I had heard it was amazing but this place is like a shopping mall on crack. It is TWO FLOORS. Who has a two story grocery store? I walked around mesmerized by all of the organic everything and kinetic energy of this holistic super store. There was an area for Mediterranean food, sushi, Asian stuff, homemade sandwiches, a bakery (yes, the sugar looked real and white), a coffee bar and to top it all off a WINE AND TAPAS BAR. Would anyone know if chubby, pregnant me sat in a corner and soaked in the vino in the name of research? Probably.
OK, so you got that. Whole Foods is amazing. But my practical life kicked in so I needed to make a Target run. Could there be two more different stores? Let’s see: Target, CHEAP! Whole Foods, going bk now! Target, employees dumber than a box of rocks, Whole Foods, know every ingredient in every macrobiotical (probably not a word) bar of soap in the place, Target, CHEAP!, Target, the plastic empire, mecca of consumerism and disposable products, Whole Foods, sustainable to the point that I thought the bowl that contained my freshly made tofu-for-lunch was going to spontaneously decompose in my hands.
Anyway, so great that we have choices, all within such a close proximity. Did I mention that one of my favorite cupcake places is across from Whole Foods? How about that for a holistic afternoon: Yoga+Whole Foods Green and Healthy+Pure White Sugar-Like-Crack? And how was your weekend? Pregnant PG, signing off!
