I fell in LOVE with mushroom logs on my last trip to San Francisco! I was looking for a unique edible centerpiece for my segment on KGO-TV’s (ABC San Francisco) “View From The Bay” and came across this FANTASTIC shop at the historic Ferry Building called Far West Fungi. I was in mushroom heaven (if there is such a place!). This great business has been run by the Garrone Family for four generations (How awesome is that? Can you just imagine four generations of Party Goddesses – HA!). Anyway, back to mushrooms…They have EVERY mushroom-themed product you can think of – from pates and oils to medicinals – too fun! And their staff is super helpful and knowledgable (Thanks Ian!). For those of you that aren’t near San Francisco you can visit them on their website at www.farwestfungi.com where you’ll find great recipes, store locations, fun facts (like the biggest mushroom in the world covers 5 square miles and weighs 600 tons!), nutritional information and best of all, my favorite, the Mini Mushroom Farm.
