I don’t know about you but sometimes I get so busy that it’s just easier to give my teenage son my credit card to buy something he wants on line than to go and do it myself. But I know I’m taking a big risk because he could so easily be approached by some cyber creep asking for the information and innocently hand it right over without even realizing it. I’ve already been the victim of identity theft once and I am paranoid about letting it happen again! Then there’s the fact that, even though he’s a really good kid, giving him free reign with my credit card is just asking for trouble! That’s why I’m so thrilled about this brand new online tool called BillMyParents that gives teens and tweens the ability to purchase on line without a credit card. They can shop and make their selections and then at the point of sale a “shopping request” email is sent to the parents to either approve or deny. If it’s approved the sale goes through using parent’s previously supplied information. What a great way to keep a lid on your kids shopping acitivites and keep your personal credit information safe at the same time!
