Greetings from the Jungle

I am writing to you from Quito, the capital of Ecuador, where I am researching new vendors for roses and all kinds of other amazing flowers. I just returned from the jungle, literally. The place I stayed in the Amazon was a four and a half hour CANOE ride from a small airport that I flew into from Quito (30 minute flight from the capital to Coca). I have learned a lot about spiders (that were literally as big as my hand)and also saw how the flower heliconia, grows in the wild. Amazing.

You just can´t imagine everything that goes into being a good party planner! Day long canoe trips, learning about flora and fauna in a language that is not my own, days without my cell phone or internet. Ah, the sacrifices! Life is difficult. Anyway, I am heading out to sample some new Ecuadorian cuisine at a restaurant called Q, part of a new, fabulous, W-like hotel called Nu House that opened in April. More on all of that later. Need a South American gig? You´ve come to the right blog! Keep checking in here because I got a new digital camera and can start posting inspirational Ecuadorian design photos when I get back (if the tech gods are with me that is.)

¡Vaya Con Dios!
