Golden Globes Watch Party Tips!

195484440046195405_RyJLGY0t_cAward season has just begun. Let’s kick things off with a super glamorous Golden Globes celebration. Why not turn this Hollywood event into something where everyone can have starring role? A-listers beware…The Party Goddess! Is going to show you how to throw a soiree that even the most famous celebs would envy.

Golden Globes Watch Party TIPS:

Class it up.  Who doesn’t like to dress up every now and then? Instead of having a typical night where friends show up in jeans and sweaters, let them shine as their favorite black and white film stars. Whether it’s Clark Gable, Marlon Brando, Grace Kelly, or Ginger Rogers, the crowd will be at their best and ready to party.

Make a grand entrance. Though the idea of a red carpet leading to the door of a party has been done before, it’s always fun. However, we’re going to step it up a notch and add a paparazzi or two. Enlist a few of the neighbor’s kids to help. What a fun way start to the evening!

It’s retro candy bar time.  Instead of today’s trend of mini cupcakes and cake pops, deck the dessert table with old-fashioned sodas, retro candies, and vintage Pez dispensers. Match the candy with the nostalgic feeling of the night to complete the picture.

Cast your vote.  Who can resist showing the entire room that they had the right hunch? As guests walk in from the red carpet, hand them a Golden Globes ballot to fill out. Mix it up by adding categories honoring the evening’s guests as well. Think “Best 1950’s Red Lip” award, or even “Best Film Noir Swagger”. Present the winners with your own version of a Golden Globe. Pick up a few old snow globes at your local Goodwill and spray paint them in gold.

Build your own photo booth.  Nothing livens up a party more than posing for silly pictures with your best buds. Instead of hiring a pro photographer, set up your own simple backdrop with a classic film theme. Next, put out a few feather boas, tiaras, and glamorous twirly mustaches on a stick, with a camera set to self-timer propped up in front. Once your friends realize that they’re in control of the camera, you won’t be able to tear them away!
