Nothing says warm weather fun like partying waterside! Cool down this summer with a pool party for adults & kids. The Party Goddess! has fabulous tips and tricks to guarantee to set the mood for your party by the water.
TIPS:
* Welcome Aboard! Invite your family, friends and/or neighbors over for a fabulous get away… at your pool! Encourage all guests to don their best sundresses, hats and seersucker apparel. Step back in time for a classy pool party. Send out vintage postcards to your friends for a fun and easy invitation.
* Good Bye Hawaii! Ditch the usual Hawaiian-esque décor and go for something a little different this year! Don’t break the bank! Have your 4th of July décor work double duty. Red, white and blue is the perfect color scheme for a sophisticated yet fun summer pool party! Think “Hamptons” for your pool soiree inspiration.
* Lifeguard on Duty! Safety first for this bash! Have a lifeguard on duty for the big day, so everyone can enjoy themselves and have a good time! On a budget? Have the big kids each assigned to a little one. That way there is always a pair of eyes on the little tots. You could even incorporate a contest for the best decorated floaties! Make being safe not only a priority, but fun!
* Get in the Game! Grab your whistle and let the games begin! Set up several game stations to let your friend’s compete. Use traditional party games such as hula-hoop contest, limbo and even horseshoes! These classic games will make your pool party a hit and will also add to the vintage décor.
* Refuel! With so much activity going on, make sure there is a refuel station for the pool party attendees! Serve up some popcorn in an ice cream cone for a fun mobile snack. Also, try mini sliders and fruit skewers. These grab and go snacks are perfect for a day of games and fun in the sun.
* Re-hydrate! Water will be a big hit for this pool party, but also have some vintage sodas for the kids! They will love trying out the assorted flavors. Provide plastic cups, so there is no glass near the pool! Don’t forget about your 21 and over crowd. Try the Orange Creamsicle Cocktail. This flavor will take them right back to their childhood! Mix 1 shot of each: Whipped Cream Vodka, lemon-lime soda and orange juice with a splash of Grenadine. This cocktail tastes delicious and looks like a summer sunset!
* Re-Apply! Get your Vitamin D, without the UV rays! Provide a sunscreen station for your guests. The “wet skin” spray on sunscreen is perfect for the kids in the pool! Not needing your child to get out and towel off, will make reapplying hassle free for mom and dad. Also, provide umbrellas and shade around the yard for those that have soaked up enough sun! Aloe Vera is a great post-pool party hit!
