Fall Dinner Party for Foodies: Menu Ideas

Food has made a big comeback recently. It’s not that we haven’t always loved food, but people are genuinely re-waking their senses to the pleasure of good, pure, high-quality food. For far too long, most of us have either been avoiding food all together in an attempt to stay as skinny as possible or shoveling processed crap. Even food that was passing for grommet was often fluff – pretty, but pretty tasteless.

What changed?  People are slowing down, paying attention, and savoring their food. Instead of quantity, we’re opting for quality. Instead of pathetic attempts at the exotic, we’re going local. Instead of powdered chemical quick fixes, we’re craving slow, handcrafted, and organic.

What does this have to do with entertaining? Your guests have more discerning and sophisticated palates. The good news is, discerning and sophisticated doesn’t necessarily mean more work or more difficulty for you.  Fancy won’t impress nearly as much as simple, wholesome, and elegant.

Here are some ideas to inspire your fabulous fall dinner party menu, sure to please your foodie friends. All of these recipes are simple, comfort food that warms the heart.  Mix it up and enjoy!

Baked Apple Delights

Apple picking has long been a fall tradition. And while you could always make a harvest pie or cobbler, this recipe makes the sweet fruit itself the star. Apples filled with chopped pecans and brown sugar, then topped with homemade whipped cream. Mmm… yummy.
