In one of our blogs earlier this week, we talked about the ups and downs of life and how important it is to celebrate “just because” moments with the people you love. It’s no surprise that I like to party. I mean, duh! I’ve built my whole life around them! But if there’s any one lesson I can impart on you lovelies it’s that you shouldn’t wait for some occasion to have people over! Seriously! Just call (or text) a handful of your mates and ask them over for drinks and nibbles. It doesn’t matter if the house isn’t perfectly clean. Just light a couple of candles and put out a few apps! Voila… you have a party! Since we’re always on the hunt for super easy party appetizers for such impromptu moments, we looked to our friends at Fix.com because they always have great ideas and pictures to go along with them!
Kirsten Nunez, has put together 6 Budget-Friendly Homemade Recipes you can whip up fast! You’ll find one of them below to get you started! Goat Cheese Balls
No time? No problem. With zero fancy skills and just 15 minutes, you can whip up a batch of flavored goat cheese balls. Using your hands, roll goat cheese into similarly sized balls, 2 teaspoons at a time. Set aside. Next, combine a medley of dry ingredients in a shallow bowl. Roll around each ball in the mixture until fully covered. Take it up a notch by inserting toothpicks or pretzel rods. Display the bite-sized pieces of goodness on a tray or plate.
Savory Version: Spices and herbs (rosemary, parsley, oregano, cilantro, basil, black pepper, salt) and crushed crackers.
Sweet Version: Smashed figs, dried cherries or cranberries, nuts, sesame seeds, cinnamon, brown sugar.
I would add to this some gourmet crackers or sliced baguette to serve along side. Wine is the perfect pairing for cheese, of course. And it doesn’t get much easier than pulling a cork out of a bottle! But if you want to up the ante with libations, here are AMAZING cocktail recipes we featured recently!
