Sweet Treats & Yummy Eats for December!

Do calories count in December? I think I read somewhere that they don’t! (Maybe I’m the one who wrote that in a past blog?) Anyway, I read it and that’s what I’m gonna go with! I certainly don’t plan to count calories this month. Besides, it’s hard to make a case for austerity and dieting in January if you don’t go a little crazy in December, right? So I’m sharing some sweet treats that I absolutely love!

The calendar is full of unusual and funny holidays, in addition to the really big ones we always celebrate. This week was no exception! There was a bathtub party day (which was also my birthday!). A day just for shoes (yes, shoes!). And of course, several days dedicated to yummy sweet treats! How fun is that? Wondering what other holidays are coming up? If you’ve been one of my loyal blog followers, you know that we publish these image roundups weekly. We feature a particular event for a particular client (well, actually this week, we’ve sidetracked a bit) so you can go deep on the particular theme. If you know what’s up, skip this part. In case you missed it, here’s what we’re doing, mentioned in the first blog. (And if you already know what’s going on, skip to the first photo!) Every day we’re posting event photos & inspiration to my Instagram page to give you ideas for your own events. And, of course, to encourage you to hire yours truly, event coordinator extraordinaire, for your next soirée! In terms of format, we’re trying to capitalize on the whole hashtag calendar world and take advantage of #WeddingWednesday (#WW) and #ThrowbackThursday (#TBT) by posting wedding photos and cool stuff we’ve done on Wednesdays and on Thursdays, harkening back to a past client’s event, be it a celebrity, or just one of us tastemakers.

My birthday and Bathtub Party Day! Who knew that this could even be a holiday? I LOVE it! I’m thinking that this photo was taken at a very fun party! Or was it taken at my bestie’s spa weekend? Why don’t I remember? Anyway, it was obviously some good clean fun!

Favorite Event Photos and Inspiration – Tuesday:

It’s Put On Your Own Shoes Day! Well this is obviously a fun day to celebrate! I’m going to put on my own shoes today — Louboutins – my faves! In keeping with our theme of sweet treats this week, I’m thinking of these shoes as eye candy for your feet… or should that be called foot candy? A super yummy sweet treat whatever you call it!

Favorite Event Photos and Inspiration – Wednesday:

Let’s hear it for National Cotton Candy Day y’all! Not a county fair in sight — not for months! — and we get to celebrate cotton candy! What a brilliant confection this is. You might not be able to find any today, but I’m sure you can conjure up some happy memories of this cottony, sticky stuff. And if you’re planning a wedding, how about tempting your guests with a cotton candy machine? You might even be able to match the color to your color theme. Happy #WeddingWednesday!

Today is National Brownie Day! Any day is a good day for a brownie… or a chocolate cupcake! #TBT to these cupcakes from an event that we planned with Jenn Sbranti of Hostess Blog for Tisha Campbell.

Time to get your French press out. Nothing goes with a pastry like some good strong coffee! Today is National Pastry Day and since it’s the end of the week, it’s a good day to have a pastry. Doesn’t matter if it’s Danish or French, savory or sweet, it’s all delicious! Enjoy!

Favorite Event Photos and Inspiration – Saturday:

Are those granny smiths in this photo? Looks like it, but they’re actually gumballs. Maybe they’re apple flavored, maybe they’re just green flavored. Why not treat yourself to a big juicy gum ball today and blow some bubbles just like you did when you were a kid?
