Cool San Diego Stuff

(Burger Man at Neighborhood)

OK, I’m here for my industry convention and have been lucky enough to do two tv shows about it (yesterday on NBC and today on CW, Channel 6.) Unfortunately for the CW one we started talking about handsome Mr. Pierce Brosnan and we didn’t get to talk about the convention. Devastating. Today on Channel 6, we talked about my Tool Kit again and the 101 Things You Need, etc.

So for sure check out the Pama website because sweet anchor Lynda Martin had some fun pomegranate martinis at her recent birthday bash. A hot trend, FOR SURE.

Where was I. Oh yes, I wanted to give you a few fun S.D. spots in case you’re here for the convention, leave here or are visiting:

* Had dinner at Nobu last night at the Hard Rock Hotel. Shut the frick up it was so flippin’ fabulous. I think we had 7 courses of 3 day marinated black cod, crazy cool soft shell crab rolls, lobster salad, DEEEEEELIGHTFUL. Oh and the sake martinis weren’t so bad either.

* Lunch yesterday was at Zanzibar. I just every restaurant based on how cool it looks, the kind of fun salads I can get (need to take off a few holiday pounds), how nice the staff is and how good the cookies/sweets are (THUS WHY I NEED TO SHED THE FEW POUNDS.) Zanzibar had great salad options as well as paninis and a ton of other stuff. It’s in the Gas Lamp District. Check it out.

* Another fun place that I’m going to head to is Neighborhood. Supposedly the hamburgers are off the hook but literally if you want ketchup for the hamburgers or the fries, I think you have to bring your own. Now that’s COOL.

Haven’t been but my local friends say they are fab:
* Cafe Chloe – Little French situation

* Rooftop at The Ivy

* Oceanaire – Seafood

* Bombay – Delightful Indian!!

By the way, if you’ve read my blogs for awhile you know that I am very challenginged when it comes to hotels. So when the Omni was one of our host hotels, I’ll be honest, I was not exactly looking forward to it. Not because the Omni is challenged but just because it’s the host hotel. (Remember the post I wrote last January from Atlanta, 7 months pregnant and the stupid hotel sent up a big staple in my dinner?) Anyway, sweet Charles Coley is the opposite of that dumb Atlanta hotel. Charles got us a last minute suite for our party tomorrow night, totally gave us an on the spot tour, the works. LOVE Charles, love the Omni. No less than 4 people (valets and concierges) helped me find yesterday’s lunch destination.

Thanks guys!

Ta ta for now. I’m off to the fun Wedding Luncheon at The Hard Rock.

  1. Sounds like loads of fun! I will be there next year for sure! A couple of local planners were there and came back to tell me all about it. They had way too much fun without me.

    Btw.. the captcha code is far too complex for me to read.Takes the computer about ten times to realize I am incapable of reading it.
