The way to save is to be creative and these days there are soooo many ways to find inspiration. I am completely obsessed with Pinterest! I can always find tons of ideas that are unique but inexpensive. Take a look around the house. You must have things that can serve more than one purpose? Can your centerpieces be used as dessert and maybe even favors also?

Here’s a summary of the tips from the clip. Take them and make them your own.

6 Inexpensive Ideas For Your Holiday Party:

1. Create A Wish Tree

Yoko Ono’s wish trees are our inspiration for this idea. Have you seen them? She’s had the tree installations all over the world. The idea is that people go up to these trees, write a wish and hang it on the tree. All of the wishes can be saved in a scrapbook and you can reuse the tree next year.

2. Place Card Holders

Write your guests’ names on snowflakes or ornaments. They are festive, unique and inexpensive. They look great and can add some sparkle to your party. And the best part is that you can use them again next year!

3. Collect And Create Your Decor

Decorate and trick out your buffet with items found on a nature walk. Don’t be afraid to cut some branches off the bottom of you’re Christmas tree or ask your local tree lot for any branches that they might be disposing of. You can even spray the branches with snow.

4. Food

I know you probably don’t believe me, but the casserole is back, for sure! It is often less than $2 per serving. You can bake it ahead of time, freeze it, cut it up and send it home with your guests. It’s the perfect holiday food and it’ll be the first to go at your party!

5. Tea

There are so many different types of tea. It is a great ingredient and it is almost free! Serve it hot or cold, sweetened or unsweetened. You can make tea-tinis…mix it with vodka or rum. The possibilities are endless!

6.Create Edible Centerpieces

Think double-duty! Sweets can double as decor or dessert. Dip apples or pears in chocolate or caramel. Cover with M&Ms or crushed up cookies. Use them as the centerpiece or place cards and cut them up at the end of the night. They look nice and what could be more cheerful! M&Ms on Christmas – doesn’t get much better than that!

Big Take Away – The Possibilities Are Endless

These are just some ideas that can make your holiday party fun and festive, but there are endless possibilities. With a little creativity, your family and friends will find your holiday celebration to be one they won’t want to ever miss. Think unique and inexpensive!
