Screamptious! Scrumptious! Scary good Halloween treats & tricks!
Halloween, hands down, is my absolute favorite holiday. It appeals to my darker side, which I forget I have for most of the year. But then October rolls around and I love all things Halloween. I start with the basics: a few pumpkins and some giant spiders. Sounds normal enough. But it doesn’t take long till I’m pulling out the skeletons and tombstones. Next come the mummies. Then those sweet pumpkins get scary faces carved into them. By month’s end, my place is in full “Thriller” mode and the mailman is practically afraid to walk up to my porch. Perfect! That means I’m ready to throw my annual Halloween bash. Once the stage is set out front, I can turn my attention to the rest of the party decorations and perfecting some of my favorite Halloween recipes. What might those be? You know me, I don’t do basic!
Frightfully yummy! Gory Halloween recipes!
Trick or treat? Do I have to choose… why not both? I love to go full-on “theme” when it comes to food. The more gory, the more creative, the better! Cupcakes with orange frosting? Umm yeah… those don’t quite cut it at my dessert table. I don’t mind a few scattered around for color, but really, my Halloween party — and my guests — expect more!
If you’re looking for some goulish delights that are both trick and treat, the Halloween recipes I’m sharing this week won’t disappoint! We’ve got eyeballs and brains, naturally. And we have a few things that are more cute than scary. So even if you only have a kids’ party on the horizon this Halloween, you can borrow some ideas from here and not limit your dessert table to 50 shades of orange frosting.
