For our fun Palm Springs event on Friday the client wanted a retro feel a la June Cleaver but with food that tasted great. We did some Prosciutto Wrapped Mini Weenies (our version of pigs in a blanket.) I swear to you on my life I have never seen anything go so fast in my life. Back to my theory that people love comfort food. I’m not saying that we don’t love a little seared ahi with whatever, people do. You can’t always do a fun, retro menu but when you have a choice, consider it. Sorry to add insult to injury, but make some amazing homemade lasagna and garlic bread and people will SCRUB their plates. Added to Friday’s menu was a really great casserole – Corn And Green Chili Tamale Casserole from one of my favorite food sites – Epicurious. You cannot go wrong with a really fab baked dish with cheese. OK all of my high end clients, no need to freak out, it’s not that I can’t deliver for your really upscale stuff, I’m just presenting fun options. Go to Epicurious.com and putz around for awhile. You’ll get some great ideas!
P.S. Stay tuned, the next post will feature our entire menu from Friday night and you can see for yourself what made people so happy!
