Eric Felten wrote a great piece in Saturday’s L.A. Times titled “A Wooing Cup for Valentine’s Day.” He gives this very intellectual and fun round up of the Chocolate Martini which dates back to almost 1915 when New York confectioner Greenfield’s offered it for 50 cents a pound (yes, the martini for 50 cents a pound – did he weigh the booze? Hugh?)
Here’s a fun option:
- 2 oz Spanish brandy (or any brandy)
- 1/2 oz dark creme de cacao
- 1/2 oz Cherry Heering
Then, stir, stir, stir with ice and then strain into a fun stemmed cocktail glass. Garnish with a cherry. I sugar every rim I can find so you might want to consider that. Garnish with a cherry. This drink is also good over ice in a rocks glass.
Hey, it’s kind of still V-Day so go ahead and stir up some drama.
Bye.
Really romantic picture thanks for sharing…:)
