An Open Letter to All of My Friends

So let me tell it to you straight. This is a big time mea culpa.

Tonight I emailed a friend/work associate with whom I hadn’t communicated in awhile. Evidently it took me longer to respond than I had thought and I dropped the ball on an invitation I should have extended to her. Then came the knife.

See, little miss sweet as pie thought I was mad at her (yes Mom, I know I should be using the word “angry” in this context but I’m not in the mood) because I hadn’t gotten back to her. Argh! Double, triple argh! I hate this. This was my big wakeup call. My own personal come to Jesus. During my foray into empire building I’ve kind of gotten a little disorganized in the friend department. Somehow I am going to fix this. If I haven’t called, emailed or written, it’s because I’m adjusting to my new roles in my own company. This is not an excuse, it’s just the background. (This is the second time tonight I’ve typed this sentence – not a good sign.) The constant travel, big events and press have been a blast and I am not complaining in the least about these great gifts, but I really have blown it a little too.

So if I owe you a call, I’m sorry. The most important thing in the entire world to me ever, bar none, no question, for sure, are my friends and family. And I include my staff on that list. My TPGers have been burning the candle at both ends for weeks now trying to get me up in the sky when I’m supposed to be and back down to the ground when the plane was due.

This is going to be a crazy week for me but for all of you that I’m going to see this coming weekend I CANNOT WAIT to drink with you. Yes, I will be cocktailing early and the photos will be off the charts. And that’s a promise I can keep!

Big kisses to you all.

  1. Oh Marley – if people are on FB or Twitter – they are more likely to know what is going on and cut you slack. If I have to wait for a party to see you – its OK!

  2. Anyone that doesn’t understand how you could possibly keep up with everyone and everything hasn’t kept up with you! You rock. Just remember to find your breath.
