Chillin’ It During The Summer!

Summer entertaining offers so many fun possibilities! With longer days and warmer nights, creativity takes center stage. There are many things about beverages for a party that people forget. And let’s face it, beverages are probably the most important part of a summer party!

In a little “throwback Tuesday/Thursday something post”, I figured I’d share outdoor party tips to make get-togethers both memorable and magical in a segment clip I did for The Show & Tell Show. So, let’s get this party started!

Tips And Tricks For Your Summer Outdoor Party:

1. Stock Up On Ice And Glasses

With the summer heat, you definitely want to be sure to have plenty of ice and glasses. It’s a nightmare for you or your staff to be washing dishes during party.

2. Separate Dirty Ice From Clean Ice

Don’t put wine bottles and drinks in ice and then use that ice in drinks. Who knows what’s on the bottles and cans that have been sitting at the store.

3. Chill It In Ice

Chill a bottle quickly by filling a bucket halfway with ice and then adding cold water. This really brings the temperature down quickly and also makes it easier to get the bottle in the bucket.

4. Chill It In The Freezer

Did you forget to chill a bottle of wine and your party starts in 15 minutes? No problem! Wrap a wet paper towel around the bottle and pop it in the freezer!

5. Double Duty Glasses

Be creative with glasses! Invest in multipurpose glasses to use for drinks, dessert, decor and so much more!

6. Decorative Ice

Ice is basically free! Get ice cube trays in different shapes and sizes. Freeze blueberries or fruit in ice cube trays with water. You can also freeze juice as ice cubes so they don’t dilute drinks!

Big Take Away – Double Duty!

Staying within your budget is so important when planning a party and one way to do that is to use items for more than one purpose. When your glasses can be used for drinks and dessert, or your ice is chilling drinks and used as decor, you are definitely getting your money’s worth out of those items. Be creative! See what you have around the house that will serve more than one purpose before you go out and buy!
