It is approximately 10,000 degrees in Los Angeles today, really 105+. I am not joking. Last night at 6:15 it was 105 and I do not want any emails about the dry heat. Dry heat is a farce by the time you pass 100, everyone is challenged, except my perfect mother who swore that not only was it not hot but she was experiencing a “chill.”
Yesterday for the first time, I woke up and realized I had three children and it was 105. This realization hit me because my husband went to MEXICO for four days with the boys. Who in God’s green land is going to go down to San Felipe, dust bowl of the Southern region in this heat with no staff, no real a/c and a bunch of boys? Evidently my little angel. I have already predicted that he will drag himself in on Sunday night with a “cold” (hangover) and a frosty disposition (hangover) all because he finally got a little sleep and realized how much more he needs. For some reason as long as my husband is around it hasn’t dawned on me that I have all of these kids. Suddenly, I, TPG and challenged, was responsible for a 10 week old, a VERY naughty 2 year old (channeling Daddy, thank you very much) and a 13 year old. I think I am still in shock. Last night I decided to solve all of my problems with one GIANT lemon drop martini and a chocolate souffle to celebrate the fact that I dropped another 1/2 a pound. I think that was about my 4th martini of the week. Now who’s gonna be frosty when Daddy returns?
Note: Thursday I head to New York for work, so expect some spicy reports on fab restaurants and other goings on. I am sure it’ll be chilly and peaceful in the city. Not! xo M
