I can’t remember how I heard about it but someone told me about GreenDimes. Do you already know about this? Such a great idea! Probably like Yelp, you guys all know about it and I am fashionable, yet in the dark. Anyway, you log on to www.greendimes.com to get yourself (and all of your aliases, married names, ex-spouses names, etc.) off of the junk mail lists. This is how it works (note blatant plagiarism from their website.)
1. Sign up! They take you off dozens of junk mail lists and plant 5 trees for you.
2. Choose which catalogs you don’t want and they stop them and plant 1 tree per catalog.
3. They monitor your account every month to make sure you stay off the mailing lists.
4. Refresh GreenDimes every year (or when you move) for $10.
While I am not the “greenest” human on earth, I am trying. This seems like a really great way to do my part and it’s win win. I have a nice and tidy mailbox and the world has lots of luscious trees. If they ask who referred you, please say Marley Majcher. I get $5 bucks and then you will too when you tell your friends. Peace!
