5 New and Inventive Holiday Party Ideas

We’re always looking for a few good ways to put a new twist on the idea of the holiday party. How can we mix things up a bit? This year we decided to get more creative and offer a little food for thought for all of you looking for something different. Here are a few simple themes that will help kick start your creative thinking engine:

Throw a North Pole Party. The kids will ADORE this! Complete with red and white striped poles at the entrance, leading to Mrs. Claus baking cookies in the kitchen. You can even set up a gingerbread man cookie decorating table. The kids can all line up and add the eyes, nose, and mouth to the cookies. That way all of the adults can have some time to mingle. You can’t have a North Pole Party without Santa’s workshop either! Get creative and find ways to come up with different “rooms” for your event.

Have a Holiday Tea Party. What a great excuse for an all-girls event! Adding nice touches like gingerbread houses and cookies will add to the holiday feel. You can always whip up some pretzel sticks dipped in white chocolate and rolled in crushed candy canes, too. This is a fun way to connect with friends during the holidays without going overboard on decor and food costs.

Host a Cookie Exchange Party. Here’s yet another idea for something a little easier and more simple than throwing a huge bash. Instead of having the baking done during the actual event, send the invitations asking each guest to bring a batch of creative treats. During the evening you can have everyone vote on the very best! Party guests always love a contest.

Get everyone together for a Black Tie Party. It’s probably been a long time since you had all of your friends in one place to celebrate in style. Although it might seem like a hassle for some (of the men), all will enjoy that special feeling that you get when you take that extra time to get spiffy! Setting up a photo booth to capture this special moment is always appreciated. As the night moves along, the photos become much more interesting, too. Memories to last a lifetime!

Have a Caroling and Chili Cook-Off Party. At first glance it sounds like a crazy combination. What better way to warm up after spending some time outdoors caroling than to start taste-testing for the chili cook-off? It’s genius. Your friends will enjoy the competition and will also leave full and happy! There’s no room for boredom when you’re all circling the neighborhood and returning to determine the grand prize winner.

Hopefully your wheels are spinning with clever and creative details! Take some time and make this holiday season the best one yet.
