3 Egg-cellent Tips For A Happy Bunny Day!

3 Egg-cellent Tips For A Happy Bunny Day!

Easter is the perfect time to have your decor do double or triple duty as centerpieces/parting gifts/dessert. A couple of weeks ago I was on Good Morning Washington sharing ways to host a festive Easter celebration with the family. Check out the video to watch us demonstrate three fun “snack-tivities” you can make with your kids! It’s a great way for them to feel like they helped prepare food and decorate for guests. Plus, there’s a good chance once the egg hunt is over, they’ll be looking for something else to do. Cooking and crafting keeps them busy so that everyone has a Happy Bunny Day!

Easter Munch

This is super addictive, it’s so delicious!! If you’ve ever made Chex mix before, you’ll be a whiz at this. Line a baking sheet with parchment. Spread a thick layer of Chex cereal, or any other crunchy cereal you like, on top of the parchment-lined baking baking sheet. Add a healthy amount (no healthy here!) of pastel colored peanut M&M’s and pretzels to the mix. Pour melted white chocolate over the cereal-candy layer. Not so much that you drown it, but enough to hold everything together! Place the baking sheet into the freezer to let it harden and set. Then, break munch into bite size chunks and shove straight into your mouth for a very Happy Bunny Day! Or, be polite and put some out for your guests! Either way! Don’t worry about buying special platters, just use basic ones and “adorn” them with Easter decor that’s inexpensive. This lets you use your basic stuff for every holiday.

Peeps Rice Krispie Treats

The great thing about Peeps, everyone’s favorite marshmallow chickies, is that they come in a rainbow of colors. That makes for super colorful, super fun rice krispie treats! Just like the classic style, you’ll need Rice Krispie cereal and butter. Get different colored peeps—blue, yellow, and pink will work. Melt butter in a microwavable bowl, then add one color of marshmallow chicks (you’ll need a few boxes of each) and heat for a few seconds at a time until the Peeps melt. Stir the Rice Krispies into the colored marshmallow goo and press into a square baking dish. Repeat with the other colors. When done, cut into squares and enjoy!

Egg Coloring Crafts

Set up a craft table with hard-boiled eggs, markers, white glue, ribbon, pompoms, and anything else your kids might want to decorate with. Note: don’t use glitter if you plan to eat the eggs afterward; use plastic eggs for the bedazzling! Let everyone decorate to their heart’s content. Hint: having real eggs that actually look cute is a good way to get young ones to eat something healthy! Plus, you’ll have some left over to make egg salad the next day! Here’s wishing you a very Happy Bunny Day!
