Ahhh… ice cream. It’s one of the simplest of pleasures. And it can be dressed up so many different ways! With chocolate sauce, caramel, candy bits, cookies, crushed pretzels, nuts, sprinkles(!), and fresh fruit! The possibilities are endless! Which is why ice cream isn’t just awesome on National Ice Cream Day, it’s a fantastic dessert option for summer entertaining!
We’ve hosted a number of events over the years that feature an ice cream (or gelato) bar where guests can build their own sundaes with different flavors of ice cream and toppings. It’s great for kids parties and adult shindigs, especially during the warm summer months. It even gets people who aren’t normally dessert eaters in on the fun! I include build-your-own-ice-cream-sundae bars at my own parties. Now, it’s one of the first questions I’m asked when I invite friends over. They all want to know if there will be an ice cream bar!
