I Went In Search of The Top Searched Hashtags on Instagram & This Is What I Came Up With…

I am 24/7 on the hunt to improve my blogs – two, social media presence and take our branding to the next level (and this stuff is HARD!), thus why I tried to come up with the top searched hashtags on Instagram. I figured, why reinvent the wheel when some super smarty pants were probably already wayyyyyy ahead of me?

Then, I stumbled upon a super cool source, The Blog Market.

They describe themselves as “a community full of resources and inspiration for creative bloggers” and I kind of love them. The site is chock full, jam packed full of really amazing stuff. Really. And I’m picky.

Pretty sure I first found them via Pinterest. (And as I went to put this blog together, just learned that Angela is in La La land too. No way! #GirlBoss! – Yes, I read your hashtag post like 12,000 times.) Angela put together a post and then (I think) I pinned it to Pinterest and somehow I found it: Best Hashtags to Promote Your Blog on Instagram. Well, color me fabulous, that’s like exactly what I was looking for! I cannot even tell you how helpful the article was for me.

Here’s Why:

1. I was super attracted to the clean look of her blog
2. The content was EXACTLY what I was looking for
3. Angela was psycho honest about traveling/stressing/swore she would never stress about her blog (sound like anyone else you might know who stresses continuously, ahem, and drinks bleach to calm her nerves?)
4. Her post was super well laid out and I loved how she grouped the categories to help us all out. She grouped them by…and it was genius!:
   1. promoting specific blog posts
   2. creativity + crafts
   3. lifestyle + adventures
   4. color
   5. minimalism
   6. creative biz + workspace

Then, this nice commenter/blogger, Cristina Nogueras, commented that she loved the list and wanted some for food. I thought, damn, Cristina, me too! So I decided to get off my duff and dig in and here’s what I came up with for my own:

Second, I started with Cristina’s suggestion of the #EEEEEats hashtag from @Infatuation and found my own little rabbit hole of great food hashtags.

Third, note that I love me my data and numbers, so I included the popularity of the hashtags at the time of this writing (in case you want to go all psycho strategy on me).

• #EEEEEats from @infatuation – 1,773,451
• #InMyHand (not the highest, but I loved that the photos featured stuff “in people’s hands.” I didn’t get it at first) – 40,892 #TooMuchColdMedicine (that is not a hashtag, just my life.)
• #EatingForTheInsta – 295,356 (note that #EatingForAbs – #51,273 popped up with the #EatingForTheInsta and I would like to vote that exactly the most unlikely #hashtag I will ever be posting to in my whole life.)
• #ForkYeah (I proclaim this one of the best hashtag names ever) – 217,337
• #NewForkCity – 217,128
• #MyFab5 – #382,084
• #EatFamous – 247,774
• #FoodGawker – 157,838
• #Food52 – 246,931
• #FoodNetwork – 468,921
