Remember Downton Abbey and how poor Mr. Molesley would spend all afternoon polishing utensils to set the table with a dozen pieces of silverware at each place setting? You were really “somebody” if you used a different fork for your salad and entree! Alas, times have changed. Today, most of us eat like the poor peasants (Lady Mary shudders!) of yesteryear, setting our tables at home with one fork, one spoon, and one knife for the entire meal. Which is why most of us have forgotten how to prepare a proper formal table setting for special occasions!
