Good Morning! My two Florida segments air today! The people here at WFLA were absolutely wonderful! Today I will be sharing my tips & tricks on a Girls Night In At Home Spa Party as well as a Trade Me Up/Hand Me Down Summer Swap Party! Both parties that are economical…no need to spend tons of money to have a blast. Here are some fun tips!
Girls Night In At Home Spa Party Tips:
* Bring In A Professional! There are plenty of mobile spa specialists that can be hired to come to your home, but if you’re on a tight budget, check out your local nail salon and ask if they would make house calls. You can also go to a cosmetology or massage school and ask for recommendations on their best students or soon-to-be graduates (they’ll charge far less than what you’d normally find). For a more intimate (and free!) setting, guests can partner up and take turns on each other.
* Set The Mood! Burn incense or aroma candles to invigorate all the senses.
* Beautify On The Inside Offer healthy snacks like cut fruit, veggie plates, and salads. For your sweet tooth, create a delightful frozen yogurt table where people can add their own toppings!
* Signature Drinks. For a day party, go for energy eye-openers like fruit smoothies, organic juices, or revitalizing teas with fun themed names like “Pampered in Pink” or “Beauty Bliss.” Be sure to offer ice cold pitchers of flavored water that you can flavor yourself using cucumbers, mangos, citrus – get creative!
* Share Beauty Secrets Have everyone bring their favorite homemade beauty product (from facemasks to body scrubs) and let guests vote on the best one! Make sure everyone brings their recipes to share. Guests can also bring different color nail polishes and accents for the most creative nail painting contest! The winners receive a gift certificate to a hair salon or local health food store.
* Personalize Swag Bags for each guest with travel pouches filled with spa tools for the party and at home. Choose from toe separators, footstones, foot paddles, lotions, bath scrubs, and fun nail polish colors (all of these can be found at the 99 cent store). You can also buy some pretty glass jars to put the homemade beauty recipes in.
Trade Me Up/Hand Me Down Summer Swap Party Tips:
* And We’ll Have Fun, Fun, Fun…- Set the mood for summer with Beach Boys music
* Serve Theme Drinks – Give them names like “The Second Time Around” and “The Recycler.”
* Have A “Dessert Swap” – Tell everyone to go to the 99 Cent Store and buy a bread, brownie or cookie mix and make them and bring them. Then, at the end of the evening everyone takes a few of everything home with them.
* From Trash To Treasure – There’s never a better place than a swap party to play the White Elephant Game! Have everyone wrap up a fun used item that fits the theme and bring it with them. Then kick off the party with the game.
* Recycling Is In Style – Buy cute recycled tote bags for the guests to use to take home their goodies. They’re available for as little as 99 cents at Whole Foods or Toys R Us – practically everyone has one!
Enjoy!
