Our fun party in Palm Springs last weekend was at Walt Disney’s old house. People raved about the menu (swear, these people were not from the trailer park, this party list was high end!) Here are some of the fun details:
Inspiration:
• Retro Palm Springs, Jetsons, Mickey Mouse, June Cleaver, Austin Powers
FOOD:
Hors d’Oeuvres – Tray Passed:
• Mini Weenies Wrapped in Prosciutto
• Deviled Eggs
• Ritz Crackers with Cheddar Spread (like from the crock pot) with a Little Red Pimento
• Traditional Relish Trays (placed around the house, 3 total – black olives, celery sticks stuffed
with cream cheese and green olives on top, mini gherkins, and mini corns)
Entrees:
• Corn and Green Chili Tamale Casserole with Chicken
• Meatloaf with Gravy
Sides:
• Double Whipped and Baked, Retro Mashed Potatoes
• Peas and Carrots (carrots cut in squares – not from the can people!)
• Iceberg Wedges with Blue Cheese Dressing
• Shrimp Salad Stuffed Avocado (just like they do at Smoke Tree – we copied the photo we took at lunch of the stuffed avocado!)
Desserts:
• Blueberry Pie with Cool Whip!
• Ice Cream Bars (neapolitan)
The hostess called me AGAIN today to tell her how many compliments she got on the food!
