OMG. I. Love. This.
When I first saw the picture of these beauties, I thought, “where can I buy them”?
To my surprise, www.victoriamag.com revealed how I can MAKE them.
The dishes are made using porcelain clay. After rolling out the porcelain clay, a piece of lace is pressed gently on top to create the design. A sharp instrument is then used to remove the excess. Placing the clay in a rounded container allows the piece to dry in the shape of the bowl. The piece will be dry in about 2 days. To use as a serving dish, it must be fired in a kiln twice with a food safe glaze applied after the first firing.
So what do you think?

You have not read the directions of the original poster. She did NOT use a craft porcelain. She CLEARLY states that she used actual procelain clay. This is not the same as craft procelain or cold porcelain. Porcelain clay must be fired in a real kiln twice, and the paint used must be a food safe glaze, applied after the first firing (the bisque fire) in teh kiln. Your post just continues to mislead people who can’t seem to understand the directions that Maggie Weldon gave you.
Hi Phyllis – Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have updated the blog post. Please check it out!
