The LA Hive Was Buzzing With Creative Professionals!
If you’ve been one of my loyal blog followers, you know that we publish these image roundups regularly. Usually we feature a particular event for a particular client so you can go deep on the particular theme. This time it’s a little different. With the HoneyBook event for creative professionals at The Ebell, we thought why not give you the low down. I was lucky enough to emcee the event for the second time.
3 Buzzed About Topics That I Covered:
- How do you put the value on your services but still respect your client?
Value comes from believing in yourself. - How do you find a balance between work and life?
You get the experience to the point where you know what you’re worth.
Value your time. - What advice would you give to a beginner?
Lay out the foundation and do the hard part first.
Know your numbers and margins first before the fun and decorations.
Know how much you want to make per hour even if you’re not charging per hour.
Know your number and base them on facts.
5 Important Topics Sean Low Covered That You May Have Lost In Your Business
- Honor your creativity.
- Be the sherpa you are.
- Stop getting paid what you can, get what you NEED.
- Own your niche, one size definitely does not fit all.
- Get real with yourself, do what it takes or move on.
While we usually post event photos & inspiration to my Instagram page every day to give you ideas for your own events, and of course, encourage you to hire yours truly, fabulous creative professional in Los Angeles for your next soiree, this time we packed the same amount of photos into Thursday and Friday! The HoneyBook event was a definite success in seeing the feedback I received on Instagram. While not all comments related to business (after all a girl loves to hear that she has some fashion sense!), I loved to hear what you thought:
- “Loved the whole program today! You rocked it.”
- “You did such a great job and that dress!“
- “Thank you so much for coming! You were amazing!!”
- “I learned so many new tools to improve my business.“
- “Marley I LOVED your shoes yesterday! Just gorgeous!“
- “You were a fantastic and entertaining host! Thanks!“
