Although we obviously love all food trucks, sometimes we wonder how we are going to eat a crepe with a plastic fork and knife in a paper container that can’t even contain the goodness of the crepe. That’s where a dumpling comes in. It is self-contained and organized. Easy to pick up, dip in sauce, and chomp into.
The Dumpling Station fulfills our monthly dumpling quota. The truck can usually be found roaming the streets of South Pasadena, but has been increasingly expanding its horizons into the downtown and Echo Park scene.
Their dumplings can be steamed, pan-fried, or deep-fried (depending on the strictness of your diet). The dumpling’s stuffing ranges from kimchi and pork, to pork and leek, to kimchi and beef, to all veggies.
The variety of dumplings satisfies all, but the french fries and dessert seal the deal. Their french fries are dusted with wasabi while they a whip up a concoction of banana and neutella in light crispy fried dough. You are allowed to go back for seconds.
