Love is in the air! Get ready to plan that special day for your loved one. If you’re lost don’t worry here I am sharing my wonderful tips xoxo M TIPS: *Create your visual love cave. What can you put together to make the ultimate-looking romantic den? Lighting is important, so close the blinds and light some candles for that passionate look. Flowers are always beautiful (brownie points if you remember her favorite flowers!), but it doesn’t have to be expensive. A single rose or sprinkled petals on the dining table or bed is enough to show off what the night will have in store! * Be colorful. With all of the gloom and doom surrounding us, it sure seems like a good idea to surround ourselves in pink and red. Carry this idea out to the nth degree – think pink (or red linens), flowers, napkins, even pink and red drinks! Red and pink are the colors for love and passion. * Sound check. Create a music set list on your iPod to play automatically throughout the night. Do a thorough sound check beforehand so that you’re not wrangling cables or tweaking volume knobs last minute. * Smell the romance. Scented candles are definitely a great way to set the aroma, but make sure not to use them while eating dinner (you don’t want the candles to overpower your delicious meal). * What’s on the menu? Will you be cooking? Having food delivered? Make sure to plan your meal ahead of time along with how long it will take until it’s ready to eat. Don’t forget to pair it with wine or drink that will complement your food choices. * Specialty drinks - Think cosmopolitans, ruby red grapefruit martinis, even margaritas dyed a silly shade. Don’t want to go too far? Why not just dye some superfine sugar and dip the rim of the glasses in it. Instead of regular bar fruit, spear some V-Day colored jelly candy or just add a treat to the top of the glass (like you would a regular old lemon). * Make dessert an activity! What better way to enjoy dessert than to make it together? Put together a chocolate fondue with fruits and other goodies. Get creative with whip cream, ice cream, toppings, and some bubbly champagne! * Do not disturb. If you have children, why not set up a sleepover at their friend’s house for the night? Or hire a babysitter or family member who can handle the children for the night. Then unplug the phones and turn off the computers because you’ll want to have the whole night to yourselves!

The traditional Super Bowl Party is probably one of the easiest parties you can host. So, have some fun with it! Go all out and serve everyone’s favorite finger-licking foods. Your television set is the focal point, not the food. Or is it?
Think about all the traditional party foods possible for this event - chips, guacamole, sour cream, wings, pizza etc. – Do we serve these items because they’re quick and easy to eat while watching the game, or because it’s the one-day where Americans can eat their favs without feeling guilty?
Let’s all eat what we enjoy GUILT-FREE, and you as a host can make that happen by serving a healthy and popular Super Bowl snack like Wholly Guacamole. Not only is it quick and easy to serve right out of the package but also 100% healthy. Guacamole is a GIVEN with Super Bowl parties. Let’s all eat what we enjoy GUILT-FREE, by serving Wholly Guacamole. For the host it’s a time saver, preservative-free, quick, and easy-to-serve right out of the package—the guac is always ripe and yummy—so you can worry about other aspects of your party planning. All-natural guacamole is also healthy! Avocados are loaded with nutrition so eating guacamole means your guests get a fruit serving, good fats, nutrients and fewer calories than ranch dip-just 25 per serving! Kick it up a notch and use a football helmet to serve your chips to go along with the guacamole. It’s a creative way to double your food as a centerpiece!
Now, how do you go about figuring out the remainder of the dishes to match everyone’s appetite AND put it all together on a budget? You throw a SUPPER Bowl Party! Read the tips below and start planning…
- Everyone brings their favorite dishes in a fun bowl. Which then combined doubles as a cluster of fun centerpieces for the potluck line! - After the bowls have been licked clean it triples as an activity. Play white elephant and swap your bowls to take home which THEN even quadruples as a fun take home gift! 4 for the price of 1! - Have guests come in their favorite team’s jerseys or colors. It will add to the décor, fun and competitive spirit! You will be amazed at the variety of dishes and bowls people bring. Having everyone take home a little piece of the party will be a reminder of good times and good company. So make it a team effort to plan your next party! Valentine’s Day is a day that symbolizes love, friendship and romance. With the economy today not everyone can be fond of Valentine’s Day. But you don’t have to worry! Feel good and park your worries at the door – V-Day is a time for LOVE. With your creative efforts (and small budget) you can still show your loved ones how much you adore them. If you don’t know where to start, stay tuned to my blog! In the meantime here are some interesting facts for you to enjoy! FACTS & FIGURES: *
Cupid became associated with V-Day because he was the son of Venus, the
Roman god of love and beauty. Cupid often appears on holding a bow and
arrows to inspire feelings of love. * Approximately 110 million roses, the majority red, will be sold and delivered within a three-day time period. *
Hallmark has over 1330 different cards specifically for Valentine’s
Day. About 1 billion Valentine’s Day cards are exchanged each year.
That’s the largest seasonal card-sending occasion of the year, next to
Christmas. * Only the U.S., Canada, Mexico, France, Australia and the U.K. celebrate Valentine’s Day. * Chocolate is a traditional Valentine’s Day gift. It’s believed that chocolate brought smiles to the broken-hearted and prompted amorous feelings. In the 1800’s physicians commonly advised their patients to eat chocolate to calm their pining for lost love.
