Last Sunday was a train wreck. In fact all of the prior week was a train wreck. But then I started to pay attention. I paid attention to all kinds of little tiny signs around me that things would get better. I found them.
I was so busy trying to get on that plane on Thursday for Kaua’i that I thought my heart was going to come through my chest. Somehow I made it. Then of course the nannies at home all got in a fight (watch for the Nannygate update this week), the gmail accounts at the office were giving us trouble, and on and on. But then I saw the waterfalls. they just appear with the rain. And then the whales that supposedly left made a great big show for me, right at breakfast. And then I got a really fabulous idea to pitch to different hotels around the world which involves your truly, natch. And the St. Regis upgraded me. And I read that Kaua’i is the land of healing. And I decided to finally send that pitch to Richard Branson for a meet and greet. And my Halloween client (the most favorite job I work on every year, bar none) emailed to ask if we could start planning early.
And then I got it. It’s all here. In the midst of the drama and my hurrying is the great big smile of my 2 year old who was just pronounced by the doctor as ginormous. She weighs in at just 4 pounds shy of him, yet is 26 months younger.
Ladies, remember that. No matter how far you fall, how bummed you get, it’s all in front of you. Find it in a flower, in the Tweet of a good friend. Just find it. It’s there. I promise.
I’m heading out to look for more.
Glad you are relaxing and loving life. You deserve it! Love you. -LM
